Data Transmission Premiere: POLARSEN - 'How (Conrad Clifton Remix)'

After his appearance on the Kitsuné compilation with Young Franco, Conrad Clifton returns with an imaginative remix for POLARSEN’s new single “How”. With some unexpected twists, the remix brings fresh energy to the house genre, akin to artists like Jacques Greene and Ross from Friends.

Conrad has been meticulous with selecting artists for Infinity Pool, and POLARSEN was an undeniable gem. His sound is organic and unique, merging found sounds and high quality production. Being that the main sample in “How” was previously used by $uicideBoy$ and XXXTENTACION, there’s also an underlying thread connecting the two worlds of electronic music and hip hop – core ingredients for Conrad and the label. For his remix, Clifton revisits the progressive, ever-changing dynamic heard on “Kneel da Grass / Tight Son”. And true to form, his take on “How” feels more like an original than a standard remix.

“When I first heard the demo, I was struck by how effortless it felt. Like one of those songs that could soundtrack your whole day, it just felt so good,” says Conrad. “I just tried to amp up the energy a bit, without losing that inherent organic feel. Plus I really wanted to chop up that sample more – replay it, and make it my own. The rest came together pretty naturally, once I had that in place.”
