JACK Studios: Artist of the Week - Conrad Clifton
A Bit About Conrad:
Conrad Clifton is a Brooklyn-based photographer, music producer and educator. He believes creativity is free flowing, and shouldn't be limited to just one medium. Approaching photography as an artistic expression, he incorporates the use of film, vibrant color gels, high contrast black and white, lens filters and other in-camera effects. His recent photography exhibition “ACT LIKE I’M NOT HERE” was exclusively presented by Maison Kitsuné at Galerie Kitsuné in Brooklyn NY, and was accompanied by a limited-edition hardcover monograph (still available here). Featuring street scenes, portraits and abstract works, the book’s images are mainly concentrated in New York City and the surrounding boroughs. Conrad also has a passion for cultural representation, in front of and behind the lens, as he strives to capture Black and Brown people in a confident light. He was recently awarded Editors’ Pick for Life Framer’s Urban Life Photography Competition.
Currently searching for representation, the work that Conrad is drawn to includes music artist portraits, fashion editorials, and documentary photography.
